I can finally focus at work without the guilt

I used to feel terrible leaving my dog home alone all day. Now he goes to Academy 4 days a week and I know he's having a better day than I am. He comes home tired and happy — and so do I.

Socialization

My dog finally has friends

We got our rescue during COVID and she never really learned how to be around other dogs. Academy matched her with calm, gentle dogs and slowly built her up. After 6 weeks she actually gets excited at drop-off. Totally worth it.

Day & Train

Dropped off a hyper puppy, picked up a calm dog

We enrolled our doodle in Day & Train because we didn't have time for weekend classes. After just a few weeks he was walking on a loose leash, doing place command, and actually settling at home. Daycare + training in one — genius.

Peace of mind

The only daycare I actually trust

I visited 5 daycares before finding Academy. Every other place was just chaos — 30 dogs in a room with one person half-watching. Here, the staff actively manage every interaction. 15-year safety record says it all.

Convenience

Daycare AND training at the same time? Game changer.

I don't have time for separate training sessions on weekends. Day & Train solved everything. I drop my dog off in the morning, she gets trained AND socialized all day, and comes home tired and well-behaved.

Boredom / energy

No more destroyed furniture

My lab was destroying the house out of boredom while I worked. Three weeks of daycare and she was a completely different dog at home. Tired, happy, and not eating the couch. The staff genuinely care.

FAQ

Questions Before You Book

Everything you need to know. If your question isn't here, call us at 437-776-9563.

What if my dog is aggressive or reactive?
We can handle it. Our team are canine behaviour specialists with 15 years of experience rehabilitating and socializing dogs of every temperament — reactive, nervous, aggressive, high-energy, kicked out of other facilities. We've seen it all. During your phone assessment we'll learn about your dog's specific challenges and recommend the right program.
How much does it cost?
Standard Daycare starts at $55/day with multi-day packs as low as $47/day. Day & Train starts at $95/day (training + full daycare included). Boarding is $75/night for 1–6 nights, or $65/night for stays of 7+ nights. Full pricing and package details are on each program page.
What are the requirements for enrollment?
Dogs must be at least 16 weeks old with current rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccinations. No registration fees — just fill out the form and we'll set up your phone assessment.
Can intact (unspayed/unneutered) dogs attend?
Spay/neuter is strongly recommended but not required. Intact males over 1 year tend to struggle in group daycare — they become territorial, mark obsessively, and fixate on females. For intact dogs, we recommend our Day & Train program where they receive individualized trainer management.
My dog is nervous around other dogs — can they still attend?
Absolutely. We specialize in working with nervous dogs. Our staff carefully match them with compatible, calm playmates and manage every introduction. For nervous dogs, we recommend attending 3–5 days per week during the first few months for consistent exposure and faster confidence building.
What's the phone assessment like?
It's a quick 10–15 minute call. We'll ask about your dog's temperament, energy level, any behavioural concerns, and what you're looking for. From there we recommend the right program and book your start date. No pressure, no sales pitch.
What do I need to bring on the first day?
For daycare — nothing. Just your dog. We provide everything. For boarding — just your dog and their food. That's it.
What are your hours?
Monday through Friday. Drop-off is 7:00–10:00 AM, pickup is 3:00–8:00 PM. Closed weekends. A $30 late fee applies for pickups after 8:00 PM.
How do you keep dogs safe?
Safety is built into everything we do. Dogs are separated by temperament and energy level. Our staff are trained to read body language and intervene before problems start. All staff are first-aid trained with direct contact to nearby emergency veterinary clinics. In 15 years we have maintained a perfect safety record with zero incidents.
How often should my dog attend?
Whatever works for your schedule. Dogs do best with at least 2 days per week — consistency helps build routine and confidence. Some clients do 2–3 days, others do 5. We'll help you figure out what makes sense during your phone assessment.
What's the cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours' notice for cancellations. This helps us manage group sizes and keep the experience safe for every dog.
What training tools do you use in Day & Train?
We use prong collars, e-collars, slip leads, and muzzles as needed. The e-collar delivers TENS unit-type muscle stimulation — the same technology used by chiropractors — not a shock. These tools are used to establish clear communication and reliable responses in real-world situations.
Can I tour the facility before enrolling?
Yes! We're happy to show you around. Just mention it during your phone assessment and we'll set up a time for you to visit and see the facility in person.
Do you offer pickup or drop-off transport?
Not at this time. We're located at 22 Cardico Dr in Gormley, ON with easy parking on site.
