Structured Play

This is a place where lasting relationships are made.

Here, your dog will be introduced to compatible playmates based on their personality and play style. Our skilled dog daycare training staff will foster these relationships through encouragement and ensure mutual respect is maintained.

Resource guarding is never an issue with us. We do not allow any toys or items of value to enter our play rooms. This maximizes the dogs’ social time with one another and eliminates any occasions where dogs may become possessive.

Social Etiquette

Nothing ruins a relationship faster than a dog who does not respect boundaries.

Very few dogs are able to safely and effectively communicate to other dogs when they’ve had enough. Leaving it for them to “figure out” on their own can easily result in dogs escalating in the intensity of their corrections and becoming reactive.

Not only are our staff supervising play at all times, but they are also highly skilled at identifying uncomfortable body language and interfering to ensure all dogs remain respectful. Each staff member has been extensively trained to use a special pressure rod to create space and prevent unhealthy interactions between the dogs.

In our 12 years of running K9 Academy, our trainers have safely and successfully socialized thousands of aggressive, nervous, reactive and undersocialized dogs. We can proudly say that we have never had a dog fight or anything akin to one occur in our social groups—something very few dog daycares can say. It is because of our team’s skill that we are able to confidently integrate dogs of all temperaments into our daycare and provide them with a fulfilling social experience they would not have been able to receive elsewhere.
